Preventing Telecom Site Power Outages with AI
When a telecom site loses power, the network loses coverage. Most of these outages don't come out of nowhere: a battery bank loses capacity over months, a rectifier starts to drift, a generator fails to start when it is finally needed. The signals are there. The problem is that they are spread across hundreds of sites and many equipment vendors.
What needs watching at every site
- Power: rectifiers, battery banks and diesel generators.
- Environment: site temperature and humidity.
- Network equipment: SNMP-enabled site equipment.
From thresholds to root causes
Threshold alerts tell you that a value crossed a line. They don't tell you why, and on a busy night they arrive in floods. Our telecom power monitoring platform adds an AI layer on top of live telemetry:
- Multi-protocol collection through SNMP (polling and traps) and Modbus TCP/RTU, so equipment from different vendors lands in one place.
- Anomaly detection (Isolation Forest and LSTM models) that correlates signals such as a voltage drop, a temperature rise and a load spike to find the root cause.
- Predictive insight into gradual failures such as battery degradation, so a replacement is planned before it becomes an outage.
- One view across sites: a live dashboard with an equipment topology map, instant notifications, historical reports and trend analysis.
What operators gain
Less downtime and faster incident resolution, proactive maintenance instead of reactive repairs, and a single view across every site. The platform can be hosted on-premises, in line with data-localisation rules.
Beyond telecom
The same approach runs in data centres, where it watches UPS units, PDUs, generators and precision cooling. See data centre power and environment monitoring.
Start with a pilot
A handful of sites is enough to show what the data reveals. Book a proof-of-concept workshop and we will connect a pilot group of your sites.
